IMD | IN-MOLD DECORATION - YOUR PRODUCT FOR DESIGN, FUNCTION & LIGHT

BJB - we take on new challenges, even for components with design and functional requirements

With our knowledge and networks in the lighting and household appliance industry we are constantly developing to meet customer requirements for decorative and functional surfaces.

Here we rely on IMD (in-mold decoration) technology, with high-quality, mostly backlit user interfaces. We use our experience and vertical integration in the field of plastic injection molding and light control to meet current market requirements. .

With machine technology “made in Germany” and technology partners for decorative and functional films, we implement the requirements of our customers at the highest level.

We combine and bundle our knowledge in the field of lighting technology for the lighting and household appliance industry. With our vertical integration and our international focus in both sales and procurement, we offer our customers optimum conditions.

We offer

  • Cost-efficient products, also as an analysis of existing products
  • Development service in the fields of mechanics, electrics, and electronics
  • Light analyses and optimum light calculation by our own light laboratory
  • IMD plastic processing in a cleanroom environment, including UV drying and component cleaning
  • Assembly service from functional films to complete assemblies
  • System understanding
  • Broad development know-how
  • In-depth understanding of processes
  • Process and cost efficiency through automation

Smart Innovations in Light and Design

PET Substrate

Using PET substrate with 80% recycled content (rPET) in transfer decorations reduces the carbon CO -footprint by up to 40% compared to substrate films made from newly produced PET.

Ultra-thin layer decoration

Minimal application - maximum effect
With IMD, finishing layers that are only 8 to 15 µm thick ensure significant material savings and thus enable a reduction in CO₂ emissions up to 70%. Our decors use up to 40% bio-based solvents and raw materials and are applied to plastic surfaces without water or emissions. The recyclability of the components is retained until finishing.
